Ivana Cojbasic has performed as a recitalist, a soloist with orchestra, and a chamber musician throughout Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Hungary, Italy, France, Mexico, and the United States to critical acclaim. Vecernje Novosti (Belgrade) said of her: “…powerful playing, which appealed in all its aspects and its demands…astonishingly powerful and excitingly meaningful…” She was the first prize winner of the first annual International Piano Competition “Frederick Chopin” in Rome, and also won fifth prize and a special jury award at the 16th annual International Piano Competition “Franz Liszt” in Lucca, Italy. Ms. Cojbasic has appeared in numerous radio and television broadcasts in Serbia, Italy, and the U.S.A. She received her Bachelor and Master degrees in Music, Piano Performance, from the renowned Music Academy in Belgrade, Serbia, and her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance from the University of North Texas. She also received the Diploma cum laude from the Conservatory of Music “Luigi Cherubini” in Florence, Italy, and the Certificate for specialization in Piano from the Academy of Music “Franz Liszt” in Budapest, Hungary. She built an international reputation as a pianist both in Europe and in the United States, while holding an Assistant Professor of Piano position at the University of Belgrade in her native country, Serbia. She has also taught piano at the University of North Texas, Mesa State College in Colorado, Bowling Green State University in Ohio, Eastern Washington University, Gonzaga University and Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington. Her students have been winners in piano competitions and festivals, and have received the highest grades at the National Guild Piano Auditions in the United States.
